Apple TV+ has confirmed that their Gary Oldman-Starring Darkly Comic Spy Thriller, Slow horses returns to season 7.
It’s a bold feature for the streamer in view of that Slow horses Season 5 is not yet air and the renewal will watch the series continue until at least 2027. Although given the last excursion of one of the best Apple TV+ exhibitions, Rotten Tomatoes’ number a series from 2024 was hardly surprising. Add the fact that it Slow horses Has picked up several Golden Globe, Emmy and Bafta nominations across its race so far and you can see why one of the best streaming services thinks this horse is still very much in the race.

Based on the series of books by Mick Herron, Slow horses Follows “losers, misfits and boozers” from Slough House, a dumping space for MI5 operators who have messed up but not enough to be worth the bureaucracy of firing. To push into the Slough House’s Mildw Ridden Administrative Hell, the expectation is that the misery, the dragging and the abuse of Irascible Boss Jackson Lamb (Gary Oldman) will soon send the unlucky few on the way.
Despite having made thoughtless mistakes, suffering from unoccous addiction and being victims of career sabotage, those who make up the residents of Slough House or ‘slow horses’ are actually very good at what they do, and appear to find themselves routinely and quite by accident to save the country from different threats.

The role crew is also excellent with oldman’s dull lamb as uncomfortable to see as he is a joy to see. Jack Lowden is the closest show has a hero playing River Cartwright, a young agent with family ties for the old game, while Christopher Chung plays antisocial tech expert Roddy. Other notable ‘horses’ include reliable and level-led Louisa (Rosalind Eleazar) and Aimee-Ffffion Edwards as Pocket Rocket Shirley.
What should we expect from slow horses season 7?
We do not go into too much details of what we can expect from Season 7 of the show – after all there are still two seasons coming before it – but the fact that it is set to be based on the eighth book, Bad actors Is exciting, as so far, it has been one for a book for seasonal match. However, we have this tease from Apple TV+: “Lamb and his slow horses are hunting to find and neutralize a mole in the heart of the British government before they can reduce the state.”
Season 6 of the show seems to continue the usual tradition based on the corresponding book, Joe CountryHowever, the novel Slough House and two short stories take place between it and Bad actorsSo it will be interesting to see what fits where when the episodes hit screens.
At the time of writing there is only one slough house novel after Bad actorsBut with a handful of the same universe novels and short stories that tell stories in and around MI5 that do not yet have much of a presence in the show, it is possible that we have got many more adventures with the ‘slow horses’ that are not yet coming.
But we know for sure that we have definitely gained at least three more seasons, the first – season 5, based on the novel London rules – Premier on Apple TV+ on September 24th.
