- I interviewed two Assassin’s Creed Shadows Devs and asked what they are excited for fans to experience
- A DEV focused on recruiting in the game
- Another highlighted the new way in which shadows tell her story
Excitement for Assassin’s Creed Shadows grows as we drive towards the game’s 20 March release date.
I recently visited Ubisoft Quebec to go handy with the game and get one behind the scenes look at development. During my visit, I spoke with key developers and asked them on their favorite elements of the game, which have not been talked about much so far, but they were most excited about fans to see.
I first spoke with associate wastage director Simon Lemay-Comtois who identified something about the people you find out in the world in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
“I think the Allies that you can recruit, like their individual stories and personalities, and the actors who play some of them are the coolest bit that we have not yet revealed.”
This relates to the lot of additional characters you can gather in Shadows Who will stay in the hiding area of the game after you met them.
Wasting director, Charles Benoit, then then against the story as I asked him the same question and said that the most exciting thing we do not yet see is “the way the stories take place.”
“I think players will really like the history structure”, referring to the game’s use of flashbacks for both characters to understand their back stories as well as the double perspective on the world and narrative more generally.
“So you have a mixture of exploring and making the open world and then leaving [and seeing] past events in their lives. And I think the way it is structured is pretty cool and pretty different from others Assassin’s Creed Play, so I can’t wait to see what people will think about it ”.
The story is something I am really eager to learn more about myself. Even after several practical hours of the game and experience lots of intrigue and interesting hooks, I’m still in the dark about what’s going on in the game.
