Frames Laptop 12 pre -orders are now live, and although they were originally designed for students, the company claims that any adult who tried the device has shown interest in owning one.
This business-bearable computer has a 12-inch touch screen with a resolution of 1920×1200, over 400 nits of brightness and both touch and stylus input functions.
Unlike most budget-friendly notebooks, the frame Laptop 12 is run by a 13th Gen Intel Core i5 CPU, combined with up to 48 GB of DDR5-5200 RAM and 2TB NVME storage. It exceeds expectations considering its size, making it a good laptop for programming.
A practical solution for prolonged use
The device can be easily repaired and upgraded. Its metal structure is wrapped with an overmolded, shock absorbing TPU over stiff PC/ABS plastic.
You don’t have to worry about breaking it, like any component, from the battery to the display can be easily replaced, with QR codes linking to repair guides.
Framework’s founder and CEO, Nirav Patel, said the framework portable 12 is: “The purest manifestation of our vision and product philosophy on framework and in many ways it is the product I started the company to create.”
The portable 12 comes in five pastel color settings with a color-dated stylus, supports Wi-Fi 6E and includes four modular expansion games, including USB, DisplayPort and HDMI, all of which are user-upgradable.
When taking signals from modular concepts such as LEGO, the laptop replaces 12 internal cables with Pogo Pin connectors that simplify repairs. The 360-degree hinge prioritizes portable state for daily use, while enabling tablet functionality for note-take.
This is likely to be a good laptop for engineering students or anyone who enjoys separating and collecting devices as the frame laptop 12 provides plenty of room for practical tinkering.
