- Oscar Nuñez will surprise his beloved The office role in the peacock’s new series
- The series doesn’t have a name yet
- It is assumed that the producers would keep Nuñez’s look a surprise but it was leaked
The office was an absolute masterclass of comedy and I consider it one of my favorite shows. I have to admit, I felt a little apprehensive when I found that it got a peacock-spin-off show but then again, it can’t be as bad as the catastrophic primary video attempt at The office, right? In any case, my interest in the new series has been punched because it has just been revealed that Oscar Nuñez will reprise his role as Oscar Martinez and I am so excited to see that character back again.
When it comes to Oscar’s return, we know he will not be the central character, so do not expect any Michael Scott Style -Antics, we see someone new in that role. Unfortunately, if you were hoping to see them as Pam, Jim and Dwight, it looks like Oscar is the only one returning to the office and he will join a new line-up of actors. As we understand it, this spin-off is set in Office universe, but it is not a direct successor.
According to Variety, producer Greg Daniels thought he “told a complete story to most of the characters – but if there was a character he would like to visit and explore, it would be Oscar.
Variety added: “It is believed that producers were hoping to keep Nuñez’s commitment a surprise, but the news first leaked Wednesday via newsletter The Inseids.”
What do we know about Peacocks Office-Spin-off?
Right now we don’t know much! It does not even have a name and is currently known as ‘Untitled Daniels/Korman Project’ (refers to the two producers Greg Daniels and Michael Kormman). Hopefully we will start to see some more details in the coming months as I am curious about this one.
However, we have a loose plot, which is that we follow the staff of a dying newspaper Midwestern if the publisher tries to revive it with volunteer journalists. So even though it is not Dunder Mifflin, we still have the paper connection and it will be created as a documentary using the same crew that filmed The office. So this could explain why Oscar has found himself here, whether he works for the new company, or he simply has experience of being a documentary.
