Rawalpindi/ Islamabad/ Lahore:
In the midst of whispering whispers from the back room’s offer and Quid Pro Quo compromise, Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has doubled and declared that he would rather “rot in prison for life” than the knee before what he condemned as “a system of pharaoh and yazidiyat”.
The former prime minister urged his party to stiffen for a celebrating nationwide movement.
“No matter what torture they apply, I will never accept slavery,” Imran Khan from Adiala Prison through his sister Aleema Khan, who spoke with journalists on Monday.
“Even if they keep me in jail for life, I won’t surrender,” Imran told his sister, adding that the party should now prepare for a nationwide movement rather than concentrating on Islamabad.
Aleema said her brother sent across three key points during their meeting. “He has not even been given the basic rights entitled to a regular prisoner. In the last eight months he has only been allowed to talk to his children.”
“We are not allowed to meet him, and even the books we are trying to send are detained by the prison administration,” Aleema complained.
She further claimed that Imran’s personal doctors were not allowed to examine him and that court decisions on contempt petitions were whistled. “Bushra Bibi has been jailed for pushing him. But even then he said, ‘I won’t bend.'”
Aleema also criticized Vloggers and YouTubers who claim that an agreement has been made for IMRAN’s release.
“Now we understand that these are planted stories to cool the public mood. They say that Americans have arrived and that an agreement has been made, but it is all just to control public expectations.”
According to Aleema, IMRAN’s message to his party was clear and claimed that PTI was a party of ideology not elected.
“Other young people than the founder are also in prison. We received voices for our ideology, not personalities. Anyone who is not in line with this ideology has no place in the party. Those who play on both sides of wicket are also not welcome.”
She added that Imran was visibly angry when he said, “Time has changed. Just look at the judiciary. The al-Qadir case has not been established for consultation in three months. Other cases related to May 9 and bail are also pending. The judges promised hearings but did not deliver.”
‘Imran is released before Eid’
On the other hand, PTI chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan expressed optimism that the imprisoned party Supremo may have been released before the upcoming Eid-Ul-Azha.
In a speech with journalists outside the Islamabad High Court (IHC) along with Senator Shibli Faraz, Gohar urged party workers to remain calm and said that all legal opportunities were exhausted.
“We do everything for his release. We have had protests, raised the question in parliament and approached the courts,” he said. “Workers have every right to raise questions and we value their feelings. No one can understand how and why Imran Khan has spent two years behind pillars.”
According to Gohar, Imran remains steadfast in faith. “He says we turn to Allah in difficulty and he will show us the way.”
He noted that the party’s patience was tested. “Our people are tired, and even judges are tired of writing judgments. We do our best to make sure Imran Khan’s cases are regular and decided for profits.”
Senator Shibli Faraz added that IHC’s working Chief Justice had personally insured lawyer Gohar and Latif Khosa that Imran Khan’s petitions would be scheduled to hear this week. “This wasn’t just any security. It came from the functioning Chief Justice herself and we take it seriously.”
He warned that blocking access to justice leads to instability. “People are approaching courts of justice. If refused, it leads to injustice and turmoil. We believe in the Constitution and will continue to push for justice.”
“The 26th constitutional amendment was the craft of PPP and PML-N. They have already ruined their policy. When Imran is free, their governments will fall,” added Faraz.
Court allows photogrammetrical, polygraff attempts
In a related development in Lahore, an anti-terrorism court authorized the police to carry out photogrammetrical and polygrine attempts of the PTI founder again.
The court accepted the prosecutor’s request and instructed the results to be submitted before June 9.
Previously, DSP Legal Javed informed the court that studies could not continue without these tests. Imran Khan refused the tests twice in writing and a third time verbally.
“We assure the court that we will cooperate and justice will not only be done, but it is seen to be done.”
