- A viral post claiming Apple brought pop starnemojier to iOS 18.5 has officially been labeled as false
- The parody account of X, Drop Pop, started the rumor when it released a very compelling picture of celebrity emojier that included Taylor Swift, Beyonce and more
- It managed to convince users online that it was a legitimate update that collected millions of views across different social media platforms
iOS 18.4 has only just dropped, and users are still basking in the features new in Apple’s quiet large iPhone upgrade – which includes eight brand new emojis. But users are already looking forward to iOS 18.5, and after much speculation about Apple’s next wave of emojier, I’m sorry to say no, pop star emojis won’t come to your iPhone.
A post on social media showing mock-ups of celebrity emoji became viral and convinced people online that they would arrive at the next iPhone update. It spread like a fireplace across different platforms, and after raising hope from pop fans everywhere, it turns out to be a lie all the time.
The claim: Apple brings pop star emojier to his next iOS 18.5 -Update
It all started in the same way that most unhinged online moments do – with a photo from an account run by a pop -occupied individual.
If you are not chronically online like myself, you may have missed the image that made it seem like Apple was ready to introduce emojis of the greatest female artists, including Ariana Grande, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift and more. It was first shared on X by the Pop Culture account Drop Pop and got a lot of attention across social media.

Since it was sent, the celebrity emojis have received a total of 41.7 million views of X as well as accumulate 110,000 likes and 3.6K answers. Despite the fact that Apple had not published any kind of message, the account did a really good job of making it as realistic as possible, go full length and including the Apple logo.
The position managed to persuade millions of the legitimate update from Apple that triggered many humorous answers and reactions from online creators, and even almost two weeks after it was shared, it’s still rounds. As unique and humorous, it would be if Apple ever did something like that, the post is completely false – here’s why.

Reality: It was a rumor that was caused by a pop -kulturn newsparodic account on x
When it comes to the pop star emojis rumor, the main question is the source account.
One of the most popular types of accounts on platforms such as X is Parodi-PopkulturnNew accounts that take existing celebrity images and use them to make realistic-looking posts with the most biting news headlines solely for comic and satirical purposes.
What is the emojis for ‘fake’?
Drop Pop is one of these accounts that most of gullible people couldn’t notice when they saw the emoji post. And it is in black and white in the drop pops ‘about’ section that says the account is a ‘parody/ satirical pop -cultural output, exclusively and only intended for entertainment purposes. Nothing on this account represents actual news’.
Whether these pop stars -emojis are all AI -generated, or whether an obsessed fan took the time to design those we don’t know, realism is pretty impressive regardless -but even I had to look twice before I realized it was completely composed.
While it would have been an even more internet -breaking moment if Apple went ahead and developed these emojis, I can’t say that it has not been fun infinite to roll through all the reactions online. But you never know; Apple could take advantage of this idea for a future software update. I’m not saying never.
