Fear Street: Prom Night Premiere on May 23, with Netflix confirming the news in an exciting advertising trailer. The first three films in Fear Street Slasher franchise really surprised me when they arrived in Netflix in 2021. I was very quickly lured into the world building and seeing three different ERAS that were portrayed on a horror background was actually a lot of fun.
Fear Street Parts One, Two and Three-Set in 1994, 1978 and 1666 recipients critical recognition, respectively, and all of them are worthy holders of spots on our best Netflix Round-Up. I was worried that the creators could rest on their laurels after a hat-trick of successes, but now they are back with another cool tale, and based on the trailer it is already shaped to be one of my best horror movies of that year.
This time we follow the prom season on Shadyside High (I’m already suspicious of a name like that, to be fair), but the cut throat (not in the literal sense) Competition for the title Prom Queen will soon be the least of the school’s concerns when girls begin mysteriously to disappear. Why was Fear Street so successful?
The Fear Street Series have been celebrated for several reasons. Many loved the franchise’s retro appeal and the inspired casting, including Stranger Things Star Sadie Sink. I am among those who sang the roses from Fear Street franchise, and it was refreshing to see horror adaptations of this quality among some of Less good Netflix horrors. Unfortunately, Netflix -Library is home to some offers of questionable quality – looking at you, The open houseBut we can’t win them all. If only Netflix had not canceled nine big shows last year and instead of getting rid of the disappointing horrors. But I’ll take off.
The films are based on RL Stine’s novels and are about teens who have to break a curse that has haunted their city for hundreds of years. And they are as nervous swing as his iconic series Goosebumpswhich now has two seasons on Disney+. So Stine Horror adaptations really kill it and I couldn’t be happier over it.
