- Ecovacs have revealed the new Deebot X9 Pro Omni Robot Vacuum
- It has self -cleaning OZMO Roller Mop and Lifting Brush Rolls
- It also introduces an innovative ‘explosion suction system
Ecovacs’ new Deebot X9 Pro Omni is a hybridrobotvakuum and mop that looks like it could solve my hard floor cleaning wind for good-I regularly test Robovacs in my role as Homes editor at Techradar, and I haven’t found one that does a good job of scrubbing my hard floors.
A major problem with traditional Robovac mopping systems is that because the MOPs are only cleaned at the end of the job (either of the dock or by hand), they tend to spread waste around the floor instead of clearing them away.
Ecovacs’ Answer is Ozmo Roller Mop. Most of today’s best robot wacuum has either a firm, D-shaped mop pad or two spinning discs, but the latest Deebot Robovacs use a MOP-packed roller.
The roller uses pressure as it rotates and is able to stretch out to the side to clean close to the edges of the rooms. The really brilliant part is that there is a scraper that constantly disappears the dirty water and any garbage as the roller rotates, and the roll is then fed with clean water ready to continue to mop.
It is a relatively simple idea – inspired by today’s best wet and dry vacuum – but it can make a massive difference to how effective this robot wacuum can handle waste. The system was introduced in the Deebot X8 Pro Omni, which was launched at the beginning of 2025, and appears in the newly revealed Deebot X9 Pro Omni and another new sister model, T80 Omni.
While the idea of scrolling mops is still very new, Ecovacs is not the only brand exploring this design – it also appears in the Eureka J20 and Narwal Flow. Where the X9 Pro Omni takes things a step further, it is that it combines the OZMO mop with a brush roll that can lift up and solve another of my bug carrier with Hybrid Robovacs.
Having the brush down while the bot mops mean that the brush hairs quickly become damp and gunked up – dust and dirt plus water is not a pleasant combination. Here’s the roll hidden up and out of the way, which means I don’t have to worry about moping finding my way into my blankets the next time I put bot on a vacuuming.
3, 2, 1, blast of
Another interesting addition with the X9 Pro Omni is a new ‘explosion’ (‘Increased suction technology for large air flow technology’), designed to offer better suction with less direct power.
“With the explosion system, we not only increased suction – we redesigned the entire airflow from scratch,” Michelle Jones, US Associate Brand Marketing Director at Ecovacs told Techradar.
“Most robotic vacuum cleaners rely on increasing motor wattage alone to improve suction, which can create more noise and drain battery life. Blast takes a smarter, more efficient approach – starting with our new superboost battery that continues through a larger air inlet, optimized air ducts and newly constructed fan blades.
She added that Blast could represent “a big step forward in both performance and everyday usability – especially for home with pets, blankets or heavy foot traffic.” The proof will be in the test and we report back when we have had a chance to review this model correctly.
Deebot X9 Pro Omni can now be purchased at a list price of $ 1,599, but with an early bird agreement taking it down to $ 1,299.99. You can buy it directly from Ecovacs or pick up one via Amazon. Ecovacs have not confirmed whether or when the Deebot X9 Pro Omni will be available outside the United States.
It has been launched next to another new robot vacuum -T80 Omni, which still has the OZMO roller -mop but does not have the lifting of the brush or the new explosion suction system. This model is a little cheaper (although still stuck in the Premium price bracket) for $ 1,199.99 down to $ 1,079.99 on Ecovacs or Amazon.
