- The latest Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Trailer appeared on yesterday’s Nintendo Direct
- The trailer introduces mental abilities for Samus as well as a new suitcase
- The game is still on the field for a ‘2025’ release window
We got a fresh trailer to Metroid Prime 4: Beyond At the latest Nintendo Direct presentation and I think it’s about to be a worthy follow-up of the original prime trilogy.
In the latest trailer, the protagonist Samus Aran lands on a strange planet called Viewros, inhabited by enemy foreign beings as well as a race that seems preserved in mental forces. The powers are also awarded to Samus so that she can interact with the environment and fight enemies in different new ways.
We see Samus using her new mental ability to transport balls to mechanisms for power units and open doors. But more importantly (and terrible), she can use these forces for slow time and manually guide her beam images through enemies. Does it look like power? Sure, but maybe not at the level was hypermode in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.

These mental abilities appear to be the primary gimmick in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, follow Prime 3’s Phazon Power and Prime 2’s Light and dark mechanics. We only really got a brief glimpse of them in the trailer, so I hope they will be useful for more than just opening doors and getting into a bullet-time-sque state.
Enjoy Viewros
One thing that is ready, however, is it Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Seems to be pushing Switch -hardware to its limits. Environments look beautiful with impressive details and wonderful skyboxes. It seems to have a fairly stable 60 FPS, which has been a crucial performance factor in all Prime games to date.
I must also give a cry for the soundtrack, which is definitely to catch the feeling of insulation that the premiere games have always been excellent at. Combat music is also crazy and chaotic, creating a intentional shredding sensation when you pulled out of smelling the roses and in a hectic fight.
Eventually, the trailer ends up with a glimpse of one of Samus’s new suitwashes. Her variety suit takes a slim red and black aesthetics with purple accents. It is a very striking look, but it is unclear which skills this suit will enable her. Presumably, it will help strengthen her new mental forces or provide ways to better cross through dangerous environments.
Still no solid release date for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond However, yet. But the trailer confirms that the game is still on its way to a 2025 release. Hopefully, it ends up being a launch title for Nintendo Switch 2, which many people wonder.
