- Apple is joked to work on an AI-driven update to the Apple Support app
- Code TIP to a ‘Support Assistant’ that will help users troubleshoot Apple products
- I worked earlier at Genius Bar and think this idea could be excellent if done correctly
Apple could be by adding an AI assistant to the Apple Support app and it would be excellent news for iPhone, iPad and Mac users around the world.
First stained by Macrumors contributor Aaron Perris suggests new codes for an AI-driven ‘support assistant’ coming to the Apple Support app.
According to Perris, “The Code says that the support assistant ‘uses generative models’ and that it will provide answers ‘related to certain Apple products and services’ Apple warns that generative models can sometimes provide ‘wrong, misleading, incomplete, offensive or harmful output’ and that customers should not rely on information from support assistant as a substitute for professional advice.”
Currently, the Apple Support app allows you to talk to a real genius-bare member about problems with your products and allows you to receive support of support without the need to go to your local Apple store.
Although there are no details of when this AI-driven assistant is launched, this can be a huge improvement in the way we gain access to Apple support and as an ex-apple genius bar employee, I will explain why.
AI for the better
I worked at Apple’s Genius bar for almost four years while studying journalism at the university, so I’ve had many meetings with Apple support behind the scenes and as a customer.
The Apple Support app is excellent and is one of the main reasons why I recommend Apple products to my family members who want to buy new technology. I really think Genius Bar is one of Apple’s best products and AI will only do better.
I can’t count the number of times customers would travel long distances to get to the Apple Store, only for the problem they experienced to be an incredibly simple solution.
With an AI-driven assistant, Apple users could be pointed out in the right direction every single time instead of trusting the customer to choose the right service path.
The Apple Support app already asks a few questions to make sure the customer gets the right support, whether online, in the store or via support items. However, adding AI -Chatbot capacities would hopefully improve this experience even more and relieve pressure on brilliant bar employees and improve the customer experience.
Adding AI Chatbots to Customer Service may sound annoying, but as long as Apple uses generative AI as a way to improve the customer experience, I think this rumor function would be genius.
