Peshawar:
An official in the intelligence agency (IB) was martyrated in a targeted attack by unknown attacks on Warsak Road in Peshawar on Wednesday, police said.
Inspector Shahid Anwar was shot to death while he was duty. His vehicle was fired within the limits of Machni Gate police station. Police said he succumbed to several gunshot wounds while he was taken to a hospital.
The first investigation, according to police, showed that a Kalashnikov rifle was used in the shooting. This was the second target killing incident in Peshawar in a month. Last month, unidentified attackers targeted a local jamat disadvantage disrespectful-e-Islam leader Maulana Qazi Zahoor Ahmed.
The funeral beans of martyr inspector Shahid Anwar were offered on the police lines. Peshawar -Police Chief Qasim Ali Khan, Ib joint Director -General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Arshad Ali Khan Tareen, High police officers and relatives of the martyr attended the funeral.
