An ICC delegation is all set to visit the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Saturday to assess the ongoing preparations for the 2025 Champions Trophy.

This visit is part of the second leg of their Pakistan tour to review arrangements for the tournament, Express News reported.

The six-man team will inspect the stadium’s construction and renovation work.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Director of International Cricket Usman Wahla along with other officials will brief the delegation on the progress.

Rawalpindi is scheduled to host three matches during the Champions Trophy, which starts on February 19.

These include Bangladesh v New Zealand on February 24, Australia v South Africa on February 25 and Pakistan v Bangladesh on February 27.

In the final phase of their visit, the ICC delegation will travel to Lahore to evaluate facilities and ongoing upgrades at the Gaddafi Stadium. Earlier this week, the team toured Karachi’s National Stadium.

This marks the ICC’s fourth inspection visit to Pakistan ahead of the much-anticipated tournament.

Yesterday, an ICC delegation visited Karachi’s National Bank Stadium to assess preparations for the Champions Trophy 2025.

The six-member team, which included ICC officials, broadcasters and logistics personnel, thoroughly reviewed the venue’s readiness for the tournament. The visit was aimed at ensuring that all necessary facilities are in place ahead of the tournament’s scheduled start on 19 February.

Usman Wahla gave a detailed briefing on the development work currently underway at the stadium.

The deadline to complete the necessary upgrades at the National Bank Stadium has been set for January 25, ensuring plenty of time for final preparations before the Champions Trophy begins.

The tournament, which will feature eight teams competing in 15 matches, will be held from February 19 to March 9 at three venues in Pakistan – Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi – as well as in Dubai.

The eight teams are divided into two groups: Group A includes Pakistan, India, New Zealand and Bangladesh, while Group B consists of Afghanistan, South Africa, England and Australia.

Pakistan will face New Zealand in the opening match on February 19 in Karachi and the much-anticipated clash between arch-rivals Pakistan and India is set for February 23 in Dubai.
