The ‘Seven-Day Frozen Adventure Winter Party, 2025’, sweeps over Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) with a dazzling view of sports, culture and societal spirit as residents show up in many of their enthusiastic support for their favorite teams.

The GB Tourism Department, in collaboration with local sponsors, hosts the event and creates an atmosphere that mours with excitement. The initial ceremony brought buoyancy to the city of Skardu, which has been destroyed by long -term power cuts.

On the second day, the festival enchanted both local and visitors with an electrifying ice hockey competition in Hunza – Star Attraction of the Event. In all 10 teams from all over the region competes at Rink in Murtazabad.

The tournament defied a tough winter in the region. Its opening was delayed due to fluctuating temperatures on the initial day. However, the games started late at night in the middle of the temperatures that dropped to as low as -15 ° Celsius.

On the opening day, al-Murtazabad Sports Club, Hunza Skardu defeated; Nagar prevailed over Astore, Ghizer best diamer, and Ghulkin Winter Club won against Karimabad Hunza. Several matches will be held on Saturday with the Grand Final set for Sunday.

Local officials as well as politicians have hailed the event as a big step to tourism. “Gilgit-Baltistan has untapped potential for both winter and summer tourism, and these events allow us to show our rich culture and amazing landscapes,” Tourist Secretary Zamer Abbas told Express Pakinomist.

Special assistant to GB Chief Minister Eiman Shah, praised the role of the event in providing positive opportunities for young people. “Such activities not only promote sports, but also serve as a constructive platform for our young generation,” Shah added.
