It’s been a massive week for Tech News, with Apple’s WWDC taking place and a number of great messages in the game world.
Did it all miss? Never fear – because you can catch it up by rolling down for our practical recaps of the seven biggest tech news stories of the week.
And once you are up to speed with it, you also need to check out our choices for the 7 new movies and TV shows to watch this weekend.
7. Xreal told us more about Project Aura
We already knew that Xreal’s project Aura glasses would bring Android XR features to Xreal’s lineup, but we didn’t know too much about hardware itself. Now we do.
For starters, the device will seem to boast of a 70-degree viewing field-which is much larger than FOV found on the 57-degree Xreal One Pro and will give the project Aura glasses a massive virtual screen.
It will also be tied to a computer puck running Android XR using a Snapdragon chip from Qualcomm, although the glasses themselves will still have a “modified” X1 processor.
The glasses do not land until a while in 2026, but when they do this pair of Android XR specifications could be something special.
6. Garmin found his Apple Watch Ultra 2 -Rival

Surprise! Garmin has revealed the Garmin Venu X1, an “Ultrathin” smartwatch with a massive 2-inch AMOLED screen and up to eight days of battery life.
The new model packs 32 GB of internal memory, presumably for on-watch music, plus Garmin’s updated Elevate V5 heart sensor most recently used on the Garmin Forerunner 570 and 970.
Unfortunately, Garmin Venu X1 does not come cheap and costs $ 799.99 / £ 679.99 / AU $ 1,499. We test it as soon as possible to see if it justifies that price tag.
5. New Bose -Ear Samples were cleared for launch

The best noise-canceling earplugs you can buy right now are made by Bose (giving the meaning company created the first active noise-canceling headphones), and right now we would suggest that we don’t buy them. Why? Because there is a newer version in -depth and Bose says they will be even better.
Bose QuietComfort Ultra earplugs 2. Gen will be launched later this summer with a $ 299 price tag – which is about £ 220 or AU $ 460, though these are guessing since pricing and accessibility for these regions has not yet been officially announced.
What can we expect? AI -algorithms for better filtration of sudden noise tips via Bose’s ActiveSense system, plus improved voice collection and call quality, the latter are especially good news because it was a weak place compared to rival earplugs from Technics and Bowers & Wilkins.
The new case will also be able to charge wirelessly-the first general ultra earplugs needed a sleeve to pull off this company, but it will be here by default here.
4. Summer Game Fest 2025 wrapped

Summer Game Fest 2025 has been and gone, and between PlayStation, Xbox and the event’s own showcase, there was plenty to be excited about.
Some of the most exciting game messages came in the form of world premieres such as Resident Evil Requiem, Marvel Tōkon Fighting Souls, Scott Pilgrim Ex, and Street Fighter 6s Year 3 Character Pass.
We also got new look at expected upcoming games like Death Stranding 2: On the beach, Clockwork Revolution and The outer worlds 2.
There is plenty to look forward to, and that’s all before we even had a chance to see what Nintendo is cooking with a new direct showcase that is likely to happen soon.
3. Xbox announced a handheld

Finally, after years of rumors, Microsoft has announced an Xbox Handheld: The ROG Xbox Ally. In fact, it gave us two.
Unlike Asus’ current ROG Ally and ROG Ally X, the Xbox version has a fine -tuned design with contoured grips that repeat the shape of the current Xbox Wireless Controller. And as one would expect, sports both Xbox Ally’s Xbox ‘Abxy’ Button Layout and a dedicated Xbox home button.
We do not yet know when it will be launched, nor how much it will cost, but we expect it to be about as expensive as the existing Allied.
2. Apple told us what went wrong with Apple Intelligence
Look at
Months after Apple, publicly admitted that Apple Intelligence-Infunded Siri was more difficult to deliver than they thought, the tech giant repeated the statement during his WWDC 2025 keynote and added almost cryptically that it will arrive “in the coming months”.
Most of us still had many questions. Fortunately, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Software Engineering Craig Federighi and Apple Global VP for Marketing Greg Joswiak put with us (and Tom’s Guide) for a wide and revealing podcast that finally explains what happened to Siri Development, why the smarter version was delayed and what’s happening next.
There is a lot to learn about over-lawful and subdivores, and how to avoid similar errors, and the full podcast varies far beyond covering liquid glass and the surprising iPados 26 reveals. Talking about which …
1. WWDC 2025 Unleashed Liquid Glass
Look at
Apple’s software event, which is led us into what is waiting for the next generation of software from the tech giant, and a major change is that each operating system will now be version 26 – with Apple explaining that this will simplicity and clarity to its somewhat confusing software lineup.
For iOS 26 and each Apple OS, the biggest update Liquid Glass, a new basic design philosophy inspired by Visionos-as in itself, gets a number of improvements, such as widgets in mixed reality.
However, the real star in the show was for many iPados 26, which finally brings some of Mac’s best features to the tablet – and it almost caused one of our authors to cry with joy (it can be an exaggeration).
There was much more to dig in from Apple’s big event, so check for the full details our guide to the 15 biggest stories from WWDC 2025.
