Not only did MWC entail a number of excellent tech launches and innovative concept design, but Apple gave us new iPads and MacBooks, and Amd Wowed us with an affordable GPU.
To catch up with all this and more roll into the seven biggest news stories of the week on the week of March 8, 2025.
When you’re done, you can check out our choices for the 7 new movies and TV shows to be streamed this weekend (March 7).
7. We found the best technique in MWC 2025
This year’s Mobile World Conference (MWC 2025) hosted a lot of smartphone, computing, sound and health technology – and we know because we participated in the show to check it all out. But among crowds were a few diamonds that we decided were the best gadgets of the event.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra was the best telephone launch with our Xiaomi 15 Ultra Review, which called it one of the best camera phones ever made thanks to its 50-megapixel wide-angle, 50-megapixel ultrawide, 70-megapixel 3x-tele and 200-megapixel 4x tele-cleanser; Meanwhile, Lenovo Yoga Solar PC won the best laptop due to its built -in solar panelinnovation.
We also awarded prizes for smart contact lenses from Xpanceo, Honor’s earplugs open, Honor’s Watch 5 Ultra and ZTE NUBIA FLIP 2 5G to name only a few more of our 10 total award winners.
6. Apple treated us with a cheaper MacBook Air
The arrival of a new MacBook Air M4 this week was not exactly a surprise considering the weeks of leaks – but its pricing was determined. Yes, despite getting a processor upgrade, two New Thunderbolt 4-Porte and some new Center Stage Camera tricks, Apple cut $ 100 / £ 100 off its price tag in a clear UN-APPLE feature.
It does not happen often at the launch, and so does the new air (which starts at $ 999 / £ 999 / AU $ 1,699) to a big competitor to the top location of our guide to the best laptops. Then Apple also interrupted the M3 MacBook Air in the process (and made the M2 MacBook Air harder to find), leaving us even cheaper options. First it gives it, then it takes away …
5. Apple also launched new iPads
Apple’s iPad Air may no longer be the thinnest iPad (see iPad Pro M4), but it switches to performance and productivity mode.
The latest iPad Air (11- and 13-inch) looks almost exactly like the last (save the “iPad Air” brand from behind), but it has a whole new brain in the powerful M3 chip that supports all kinds of activities ranging from video editing and art creation to Apple Intelligence tasks.
But Apple has now paired it with a new, optional (and more affordable) magic keyboard, which includes a function key row and a noticeably larger pointed field. This is a tablet ready for productivity work, and for some it can be with the keyboard a decent ultra-bearable replacement.
As for the base, 11-inch iPad, it also got a chip update, but only for A16. Now it’s a great piece of Apple Silicon, but it doesn’t support Apple Intelligence. We know that the target market will not miss it.
4. Dysons Pro r Hair dryer joined the main area
Formerly a professional hair dryer, the Supersonic R is now added to Dyson’s most important consumer area. Of course, it looks a little weird, but it’s 20% smaller and 30% lighter than the original supersonic and more powerful too. So if you are looking for quick styling without arm-pain (and have appropriate deep pockets), it’s worth a look.
R can boast a wide range of compatible, magnetic styling -attached files. These include the exciting sounding powerful and smooth nossy along with the fan-favorite flying connection. As with the current range toopes, the Supersonic Nurall, at the dryer, which is fixed, and automatically switches to your latter-out settings for each.
Dyson Supersonic R is already available in the United States, due in the UK from April 2nd. This version is identical to the original pro version, with the exception of a shorter cable (home length, rather than salon length) and some cool new color ways.
If you missed your chance to get last year’s overall Ray-Ban smart glasses then you are lucky-meta to release another limited edition batch, but they will be in even shorter supply.
A teaser on Meta’s Website says something new comes straight from the runway with a promise that smart specifications with limited time will be launched this month, although the picture also highlights an “0001/3600” stamp -what suggests that this new batch will have less than half of the availability of last year’s 7,500 Limited Run.
In addition to the overall framework, we do not know anything more about the fall, but based on the runway commentary, we suspect that this may have a connection to the recent Milan Fashion Week, which is where A $ AP Rocky debuted as Ray-Ban’s first creative director. He has already shown a pair of standard glasses designs and this message could tease his first smart glasses.
2. Xiaomi revealed the first ever wi-fi earlings ever
In lightly one of the top three groundbreaking earplugs we saw on MWC25 this week, Xiaomi revealed the first earplugs with Wi-Fi, where we delivered hi-res sound up to 4.2 Mbps. Do you want lossless sound over Wi-Fi without destroying the life of the battery? Xiaomi is gone and done so with the new Buds 5 Pro. They were launched in Europe in two variants-a standard (non-wi-fi) Buds 5 Pro and Bud 5 Pro Wi-Fi. Both models have an impressive spec sheet, but Wi-Fi Dem is especially impressive because they can apparently deliver lossless sounds to up to 4.2 Mbps using their Wi-Fi connection, which jumps and borders in front of everything you get with Bluetooth.
Xiaomi Buds 5 Pro Wi-Fi has Qualcomms S7 Pro Chip and Snapdragon Sound Technology Suite, which can support up to 96 kHz/24-bit hi-res sound. Of course, there is a ‘but’: it only works with certain smartphones. Xiaomi says a list of compatible devices will soon be published on its website – but right now the only known supported phones are Xiaomi 15 and 15 Ultra. (Your iPhone? Don’t get your hopes up.)
1. We review AMD’s negotiation card
AMD RADEON RX 9070 XT is AMD’s first RDNA 4 card that hits the market, and it is a bang, almost matching Nvidia’s more expensive GPUs in 4K and 1440p performance for $ 599. It ranks close to RTX 4080 and exceeds older AMD cards with a 304W TGP that remains handler at this benefit level.
While it lacks top-tier jet tracking and AI calculates, it distinguishes itself by raster and game workloads that remain more affordable and less prone to price inflation. In the end, it’s the best value for players who want to upgrade without breaking the bank.
