- Both were shown only in Prototype in High End Munich 2024
- Chord shows five possible configurations – here is the collapse

Back to the news at hand now, and although the High End Munich 2025 saw the British Hi-Fi Specialistakkord tease something “pioneering”, it is the company’s 2024 two-strong prototype reveals that it is finally accessible to buy now-and that I will shine a light on.
In fact, I don’t know if the couple was named after Suzi Quatro, but that’s what I want to think. Furthermore, anyone who plans to discredit my assumption has a heart of stone because she is rocking. (Sorry, ed. More of this everywhere).
Suzi Pre and Suzi AMP: Specifications, Pricing, Quatro -Reference …
Breakdown? Of course. As you could expect, Suzi PreEamp and Suzi AMP Stereofraft amplifier can be used in isolation or in combination as a Pre/Power amplifier, but chord explains that the 30-watt Suzi amplifier is also seamlessly integrated with the company’s flagship Hugo 2 DAC (although not the less step-down Qutest model).
And there is more. When the Suzi amplifier is paired with the aforementioned Hugo 2 DAC and the company’s 2GO streamer, it is transformed into a streaming amplifier complete with Roon -ending and DLNA/UPNP connection, plus the potential of 2TB maximally aboard solid state Storage using 2GO’s Twin MicroSD slots.
But let’s keep a knockin ‘with Chord’s Full Suzi Concept Guide, including five potential configurations. Yes, I would also hoped for a 48 crash but five will do …
- Suzi Pre: an independent Analog preamplifier with a phono scene and headphone output
- Suzi amp: an independent Stereo power amp
- Suzi Pre/Suzi Amp: A compact pre/power amplifier with phono scene and headphones out
- Suzi amp with a Hugo 2: A DAC/amplifier (add USB-C/B inputs with multiplexer accessories)
- Suzi amp with a Hugo 2 and 2GO: A streaming DAC/AMP with up to 2 TB MicroSD -storage
Should you buy both? Well, your mom doesn’t like me (and not your bank balance either), but there’s plenty to love – they make me smile in any case.
Suzi-Pre boasts a premium built-in mm/mc phono phase (for connection with the best turntable, regardless of your tire’s cartridge) with selectable winnings and impedance, available via top panel controls or the bound remote control. It has both 3.5 mm and 6.35 mm headphone outputs, three RCA inputs, an RCA output and a 12V DC output. A central polychromatic control sphere takes care of volume and entry choices.
Suzi AMP Power Amplifier incorporates Chord Electronics’ proprietary Ultima amplifier topology that boasts 30 watt stereo power into a remarkably compact design (so it’s hardly too big for your home). It has 4 mm banana speakers, RCA inputs and a removable fixed aluminum cover block that reveals connections for direct integration of Suzi Pre or Hugo 2.
Chord tells me that the front panel of polychromatic buttons controls power and the AV-city pass function and that Casework venting should regulate the temperature. A 12 V DC output is also there for compatibility with other cheat electronic units. A review of the headphone (3.5 mm and 6.35 mm) is also active when the Suzi Amph is connected to Suzi Pre or Hugo 2.

If you are considering Hugo 2 and Suzi AMP combination (Good Shout -also me), Chord Electronics is eager to emphasize that it also offers a separate USB multiplexes -expansion accessories. This connects to Hugo 2’s double micro USB inputs and adds USB-B data inputs plus USB-C data and charging.
The Suzi amplifier even comes with a charging bridge accessories for use with Hugo 2 DAC. The said charging bridge gives juice to Hugo 2 when the Suzi amplifier is off, and holds Hugo 2 fully charged for portable use and offers a practical 5 V USB-C effect for devices.
Let’s go down the devil gate for pricing, should we? Suzi Pre comes with a list price of £ 1,995 / AU $ 4,000 (then about $ 2,700, as a rough guide). However, the Suzi amplifier is the Daytona Demon in the duo – the wild if you want – in it, it is price for £ 3,400 / AU $ 7,000 (or about $ 4,600 before duties). The USB Multiplexer? It’s a SNIP for £ 300.
Everyone is available now. My advice? Evie, Evie, let your hair down …
