When you search for a new NBN plan, you will make sure you get the fastest possible download speeds become an important decisive factor for most people. It makes sense: If you pay for a service you will get what you pay for.
Well, the popular Internet-Test Service Ookla Speedtest made it clear which NBN provider has the fastest fixed network of 1h 2025, with the price going to Superloop.
To decide which provider could be considered the fastest regular network, Ookla didn’t just just closed the eyes and threw an arrow on a dartboard. Instead, it analyzed the results of over 18 million consumer -initiated Speedtest results across 2.4 million users during the 1st quarter and 2nd quarter from 2025 focusing on larger NBN providers.
After his analysis, OOKLA awarded Superloop as the fastest regular network in Australia in H1 2025, where users on its fastest plans experience the highest average download speeds of 768.77 Mbps.
However, providers were not just measured at download speed: OOKLA calculates its own total ‘speed result’ metric to compare different providers, as it says “uses data from different measurements including 10., 50th and 90. Based on this combination, Superloop came out in front with a final speed result of 63.32.
Superloops Download speed result of 768.77 Mbps is also significantly ahead of the next closest provider (11.2% to be specific) and about doubling or even tripling the figures for some of Australia’s largest ISPs. You can find out more about OOKLA -specific tests and finds here.
It is a great achievement for the Australian owned Telco and perfectly timed with the incoming arrival of September-NBN speed upgrades. We already regularly evaluate superloop in our guide to the fastest NBN plans, where its gigabit NBN 1000 plan is a specific highlight -not only for the speeds it claims to give, but also for the incredible value offered.
Coming in only $ 85p/MI for the first six months before rising to a still competitive AU $ 109p/m ongoing, Superloop’s Lightspeed 1 GBPS plan represents one of the most cost-effective routes to blossom download speeds.
