Islamabad:
An Intra-Court Appel has been filed in Islamabad High Court (IHC) against a single bench decision ordering that ordered a commission to investigate blasphemy allegations.
The appeal was filed by Rao Abdul Rahim against the decision of Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq Khan.
The petitioner urged the right to declare the decision of the one bending invalid and to reject the original petition as a declining.
According to the appeal, the individual bench practiced SUO MOTU powers and issued directions without hearing the respondents’ version. It also argued that the original petitions had several legal forums available to them, including court courts, but chose not to approach them.
The petitioner maintained that the form of a commission to investigate criminal accusations contradicts established legal procedures and precedent laid down by higher courts.
It is worth noting that Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq Khan had previously ordered the federal government to set up a commission within a month to investigate the matter.
