Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday instructed the Deputy Commissioner (DC) in Lahore to make a decision at 1 p.m. 17 About Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf’s (PTI) request to hold a rally in Minar-E-Pakistan on February 8th.

Justice Farooq Haider, who presided for the consultation, criticized the authorities for postponing a decision and noting that PTI had made his request on January 29.

The court expressed concern about the possibility of rally preparations if permission was granted at the last minute.

During the case, Punjab’s Chief Secretary appeared to the court and secured compliance with its orders.

Lahore DC presented a report explaining the delay with reference to logistical challenges, including a Tri-National Series match. He said there were still discussions about Rally’s approval.

The court pressed officials on why no decision had been made in the past.

“If a meeting is scheduled for tomorrow and the request is denied what opportunities will PTI have? If approval is given, how can preparations be completed in just one day? “Justice Haider noticed.

PTI leaders claim that the delay or refusal of public gatherings limits their right to political expression.

Naqvi warns PTI against holding Jalsa on February 8

Last week, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi Pakistan Tehreek-E-In-Insaf (PTI) warned of strict action if it goes ahead with its scheduled 8th February protest, which coincides with the Champions Trophy match planned in Lahore.

PTI had decided to observe Black Day on February 8 to protest his ‘stolen mandate’ at last year’s parliamentary elections and announced a plan to hold public gatherings in Minar-E-Pakistan grounds.

“The government will request PTI to rethink its planned protest on February 8, but if the party refuses, the state will take the necessary action,” the Minister of the Interior said during his visit to the Mega Passport Center on Peco Road in Lahore.
