IHCS JAHAGiri -Andragender SC in degree

Islamabad:

Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri has moved the Supreme Court against Sindh High Court (SHC), who rejected his plea to become a party to a false degree regarding him.

A petition filed in the Apex Court is challenging SHC’s decision on September 25, with Justice Jahangiri claiming the order is illegal as it was adopted without hearing the affected party.

The petition claims that SHC overlooked the question of maintenance and handed down an ex-parte judgment that denied the petitioner an opportunity to be heard or represented by a lawyer.

The placement maintains that Justice Jahangiri’s degree question could not have been taken up for a constitutional bench and claims that the cancellation of his degree is “malafide and illegal”. It also points out that the petitioner is not only a sitting judge for IHC, but has also held various bark offices in the past.

The petition has appointed 10 institutions as respondents in the case, including Sindh Higher Education Commission, University of Karachi and Pemra.
