It’s only Monday and we’ve already started the week with disappointing news – there’s no episode of A piece coming out this week. Why? To create space to cover the election in Japan, which has a knock-on effect for what international fans can see as well.
However, do not panic yet. It is the perfect time to catch up with all past episodes you have not yet seen on crunchyroll, or switch to Netflix for the Live-Action version before ahead before A piece Season 2 messages start rolling out.
But what if you are not in the mood for several of Halmhat’s Shenanigans? Though A piece is undoubtedly one of Best anime shows ever, it’s not all and ends all together. New anime shows are also paving the way for unmistakable TV this year, and I think there are three you absolutely can’t miss this week.
The pharmacy diaries
Look at
Have just wrapped up his explosive second season, The pharmacy diaries is a must-see anime you may not have heard of. When he was first sent back in 2023, the show follows Maomao, a young pharmacist who was kidnapped and forced into the emperor’s palace. It sounds pretty bleak, but even though the story is inspired by ancient China, what we see on screen is about revealing conspiracies.
Maomao uses his medical knowledge to solve the mysteries that haunt the palace where a dangerous political landscape begins to be revealed. At the end of season 2, the suspicion even turns on Maomao, involved in a kidnapping case she had nothing to do with. No spoilers here, but there is also a huge identity reveals that you have to keep an eye on, and it is directly related to Maomao’s romantic relationship with Jinshi.
The beginning after ending
Look at
If you wish to start a series that is brand new in the 2025 release slate, you should not look further than The beginning after ending. Our leading man King Gray dies and reincarnates as Arthur Leywin, who essentially begins another life again as a baby. It’s this kind of narrative outside the wall that I really love in an anime series, and this one creates the perfect balance between unique intrigue and taking things too far.
Season 1 consists of only 12 episodes so you can easily binge it within a week while A piece is awol. There is a great balance between plot action and expectation. It also scratches a little deeper below the surface than other new anime shows have tended to. If you are looking for endless epic fight sequences, you will not find them here, but it is far from a bad thing.
Dr. Stone Science Future
Look at
Dr. Stone Science Future is the ideal choice for anime fans who want to jump into the same level of already existing lore that A piece has built up over the years. Rather than acting as a spinoff from the main series, The future of science is just another title for the fourth and last season of the main show. We’ve already seen half of it and the other Cur premiered on July 10th.
This time, our gang of misfits is focused on establishing a new nation with a million inhabitants, called Corn City. Perseus crew and Americans, led by Brody, work together to build it, with Senku and Stanley, who play their ideologies against each other. It is likely that future episodes will show the couple working harmoniously together, but it will be a messy and chaotic trip to get there.
