Lahore High Court (LHC) gave on Thursday that former Prime Minister Imran Khan was involved in a conspiracy behind the violent events on May 9, 2023 with reference to testimony from two police officers.
The court rejected IMRAN’s petition after the occasion of bail and noticed sufficient reasons for criminal conspiracy and monkey.
According to the detailed order placed statements by Inspector Ismat Kamal and Assistant Sub -Inspector (Asi) Hassan Afzal Imran as the one who committed meetings held on May 4 in Chakri Rest Area, Rawal Pindi and on May 7 and 9 in Lahore. The court said this is undermining the argument that Imran was in prison during the violence on May 9.
“These declarations attract the provisions of section 120-B and ยง 121-A in the Pakistan Penal Code,” the verdict reads. Both sections deal with criminal conspiracy and forgery of mutiny that have serious legal consequences.

During the hearing, the court noted that IMRAN’s past conviction in the al-Qadir Trust case was undisputed. It also said that his alleged statements and actions had led to loss of life and damage to state property.
The prosecution presented audio and video clips, including prints prepared by Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA), which requires forensic examination. Authorities had been granted a legal permit to carry out photogrammetry, polygraf and voice-matching tests within prison rooms. However, investigators reported that Imran repeatedly refused to cooperate and hinder progress.
The Court concluded that the prosecutors fall into the forbidden clause in section 497 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CRPC) that prevents bail in serious offenses. It found no new circumstances to justify further investigation or release against bail.
“In collective consideration of the facts … we are not inclined to give bail on the petitioner to the petitioner,” the court said, and rejected the petition directly.
