Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan on Thursday expressed his dissatisfaction with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur over his meeting with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, The news Reported Friday with reference to sources.

The meeting, which also attended other party members, did not sit well with Khan, who believed that Gandapur should have taken a firmer position instead of accepting the appointment of a new inspector for the police (IGP) in the province.

Last week, the federal government had removed Akhtar Hayat – reportedly because of his failure to maintain law and order in the province over a long period of time – and appointed Zulfiqar Hamed for the new IGP.

The PTI founder, who is imprisoned in Adiala Prison, discussed the overall political situation and the party’s organizational affairs with senior PTI leaders at a recent meeting at the facility.

It was learned that the party’s Supremo was assessed by the arrests and alleged harassment by leaders and workers, especially in Punjab. Those who met him include PTI -General Salman Salman Akram Raja, opposition leader in the Senate Shibli Faraz and Ptis Women’s wing leader Kanwal Shauzab.

According to sources, the PTI founder sent a message to the newly appointed president of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Junaid Akbar party through party leaders. Akbar is in the news these days for his strong statements.

Separately declared Faraz while talking to the media, February 8 as a “black day” in Pakistan’s political history. He said that instability had seized the country since that day because the true representatives of the people were not present in parliament.

He criticized the current assemblies and said that those sitting in them were rejected by the public and questioned how such individuals could legislate in people’s interest. He argued that laws such as the Law on the Prevention of Electronic Crimes (PECA) and the 26th amendments were examples of the type of legislation these persons would continue to pass.

He urged the government to form two independent commissions to tackle the most important questions and said that if the government complied with, his party would be willing to participate in negotiations. However, he emphasized that the government must demonstrate seriousness and sincerity in its approach.

Faraz also criticized the Election Commission in Pakistan (ECP), which sarcastically suggested that it should be awarded a medal to make the most controversial elections in the country’s history.

Separate, during a medias interview, convicted senior PTI members Faisal Chaudhry, Taimur Jhagra, Shahid Khattak, Suhail Afridi and Syed Fakhar Jahan, what they described, a systematic release of voters and oppression of opposition votes.

Faisal Chaudhry accused the authorities of stealing people’s mandate, especially in Karachi, where he claimed the election results were manipulated. “The voices of the people have been stolen and all seats in Karachi have been distributed as charity,” he said, adding that he had warned that the opening of ballots would invoke Article 6 dealing with treason.
