Rawalpindi:
With regard to the claims that were traded between his confidant, PTI cartridge-in-chief Imran Khan has maintained his sister Aleema Khan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur from issuing public statements against each other and have called the latter to a meeting Thursday (today).
This was stated by PTI senator Ali Zafar, who spoke with the media outside Adiala prison following the consultation of the Toshakhana II case. He clarified that Imran had not said anything about removing Gandapur from Chief Minister’s Post.
The controversy began on Tuesday when Aleema claimed Gandapur had told Imran that she was trying to hijack PTI using an intelligence agency. The comments came a day after the KP chief minister met the party’s founder in prison and left without tackling the press.
Aleema, who also met her brother on Tuesday, said Imran had told her that Gandapur had filed a complaint against her, claiming she was “in contact with an intelligence agency and would become party front oil”.
In a video message in the evening, Gandapur recognized that he had conveyed to the party’s founder his concern about Aleema’s alleged attempts to create departments within the party. He admitted that there were internal rifts that accused IMRAN’s sister of working with certain vloggers to encourage workers against him and discredit senior management.
The KP chief minister added that he told Imran that such a fractionism served personal interests and damaged the campaign for the PTI founder’s release. Gandapur also claimed that Aleema, with the backing of powerful quarters, tried to divide the party. He pointed out that while her son was released within a few days, dozens of PTI workers – including Imran himself – had gone to jail for months.
He also claimed that Hafeezullah Niazi, a relative of Imran Khan, was at the forefront of a campaign to raise Aleema Khan as PTI chairman.
In a speech with journalists on Wednesday, Zafar said the PTI founder had instructed Gandapur to meet him in prison on Thursday. “Imran Khan has also appointed four new coordinators today,” he added.
With the Quote PTI founder, Zafar said, if Imran continued to be held in lonely containment, the four coordinators would control his legal affairs and added that the new team would now end the schedule for meetings with him.
According to Zafar, Imran expressed regrets about the public saliva between Gandapur and Aleema, emphasizing that leaders should not be publicly complained as it only benefits political opponents.
