IMRAN sues PTI, rejects terror path

Rawalpindi:

Senior Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) leaders on Monday forwarded fresh instructions from the party’s imprisoned founder Imran Khan, called on the party to prepare for the next course of action, work for peace rather than terrorism and condemned what he described as attempts to crush PTI and steal his mandate.

In a speech with the media outside the Adiala prison after Toshakhana-II case hearing and a meeting with Imran, Aleema Khan said she met her brother, who told her the party should be ready for the future. “He said we have to work for peace, not to increase terrorism.”

Aleema added that she had informed him of Rally on September 27. “I told him people from all over Pakistan on your call came out.” According to her, the PTI founder replied that “Mohsin Naqvi has ruined cricket. Each team is good but the decisions are wrong”.

She claimed IMRAN told her the FIA had confronted him for posts in his X account and said, “They told me your handle items Anti-State Things … Why shouldn’t we go against you under Peca?”

Aleema quoted him in response, “I represent 80% of the population. How can you stop a leader with such representation in speaking his mind?”

She added that he emphasized that dialogue, not conflict, was the way forward with Afghanistan. “PTI has been shattered and our votes were stolen at the election. After the 26th amendment, conscience judges are increased.”

The PTI General Secretary’s lawyer Salman Akram Raja told journalists that Imran had issued “important instructions” that he would share with the parliamentary party. He said the founder expressed dissatisfaction with the events of Peshawar -Rally, especially the choice of venue.

“He said the dust is flying and the events were not appropriate. I wouldn’t say he was unhappy with the rally itself, but there were questions about events,” Raja added.

He also referred to an incident where shoes were shown on party leaders during the rally. “The founder said party officers should think if they should carry the public with or leave them,”

He quoted.

Raja clarified that Aleema Khan did not directly intervene in party affairs. “She only communicates the founder’s message to the public. The founder has given clear instructions that the party should be run by its officials and leaders. His narrative is pro-state, not anti-state. I do not understand what so-called anti-state tweets are referred to.”

On the PTI founder’s prison terms, Raja said, “In the attempts on May 9, cases of WhatsApp will be conducted. This lapses constitutional and legal rights. The founder has said that these WhatsApp cases must be strongly raised before him and the procedure.”

He added that only four meetings with the founder had been possible due to legal constraints.

Separately expressed the PTI founder’s lawyer’s lawyer, Salman Safdar, suspected that the al-Qadir Trust case would only be taken after a verdict was handed down in Toshakhana-II. “Now it is not possible for the founder and Bushra Bibi to be jailed in Cipher, IDdat, Toshakhana-I or al-Qadir cases,” he said.

“Today is Monday and at 8pm we got out of prison. Power went out in the courtroom, so the judge had to postpone Toshakhana-II despite the court dimensions until 3pm after 15:30, evidence will be registered on the post.”
