Imran to move SC over to meet denial

Rawalpindi:

Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf founder Imran Khan has instructed the PTI leadership to take the question of denying his meetings with his friends and family to the Supreme Court.

When talking to media outside Islamabad High Court (IHC), PTI Senator Cited Ali Zafar Imran Khan to say he was ready to hold conversations in national interest. He said many PTI lawyers visit Adiala prison for meeting with Imran Khan. He said Salman Akram Raja’s comments regarding meeting with the PTI founder have raised a new controversy.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) Secretary Salman Akram Raja has submitted two requisitions to the superintendent of Adiala Prison and requested meetings for family members and friends of PTI founder Imran Khan on Thursday.

The requests, signed by Raja, include opposition leader in the National Assembly Omar Ayub Khan, PTI -Leader Shibli Faraz, Sunni Ittehad Council Chief SaHibzada Hamid Raza, MWM -Manager Alama Nasir Abbas, head of the opposition of the Punjab assembly Imran Khan’s Friends. Family members listed in the request include Aleema Khanum, Uzma Khanum, Noreen Khanum and Qasim Zaman.

Although Thursday is typically reserved for meetings with friends, Raja has requested that the Adiala Prison Administration allow Imran Khan’s family members to meet him when they were denied access during the family’s visit day on Tuesday.

It is noteworthy that PTI leaders had previously sought the judges’ intervention after the prison administration repeatedly denied meetings between Imran Khan and his friends and family despite a court decision.

They condemned the denial as contempt of court, and in a strong statement, the judges called on to resign if they could not maintain the holiness of the judiciary.
