Rawalpindi/Peshawar:
PTI Foundation Chairman Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, has said that her brother remained in defiance despite pressure tactics and claimed he would never enter into an agreement to secure his freedom.
She claimed that former Premier’s spouse Bushra Bibi was held in solitary confinement to mentally break her and force the PTI founder into an appointment.
“The pressure is exercised directly on orders from the army chief instructing a colonel to apply the pressure,” she claimed, adding that “prison rules and court orders have no value here.”
“He obviously said at our meeting that no matter how much pressure they apply, he will not negotiate,” she claimed, while talking to the media after meeting Imran in Adiala Prison on Tuesday.
She also rejected reports of his deteriorating health and said he is “perfectly fine” and receives all the necessary facilities in prison.
Aleema also revealed that she, along with Salman Akram Raja and KP -Attorney Shah Faisal, was stopped two kilometers before reaching prison and having to wait 50 minutes before he was allowed to enter.
She said IMRAN was denied three planned meetings with Bushra Bibi, with prison authorities quoting “orders from above” as the reason. She also rejected the alleged leaked Audios attributed to her and called them fake.
Separately, the head of the opposition in the National Assembly Omar Ayub has rejected claims of back door negotiations and question the government’s financial narrative. “Who is trying the government to fool? What economy is actually running?” He said as he approached the media in Peshawar.
He accused the government of intensifying police brutality across the country, especially in Punjab, and criticized the limitations of lawyers who meet Bushra Bibi and Imran.
“There is no rule of law in Pakistan. We are fighting for the release of our imprisoned colleagues. PTI demands transparent choices,” he added.
