IMRAN’s letter to Army Chief has shakening the ruling party: Barrister Gohar

Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) claims that a letter written by Imran Khan to the army chief has uncontrolled government officials and drawn strong reactions from the governing coalition.

Without referring to the army chief, lawyer Dr. Muhammad Ali Saif, spokesman for the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government that the letter had panicked within the federal government, although he did not name any specific officials.

He claimed that ministers from the “false government” had launched propaganda even before the letter reached its intended recipients.

“The leaders of the reigning party have lost sleep over Imran Khan’s letter,” Saif said in a statement, adding that the senior Pakistan Muyslim League – Nawaz (PML -n) Tal was “visibly disturbed.”

PTI has repeatedly accused the government of using legal and administrative tactics to suppress the opposition.

Saif claimed that once Khan is released, his party will hold the governing coalition responsible for what he described as “illegal acts and political victims.”

The letter, reportedly addressed to senior military management, has not yet received an official response.

Earlier this week, unlike the claims from Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI), security sources have revealed that no letter was received from former Prime Minister Imran Khan of the Chief of Army of Army Staff (Coas) General Asim Munir.

Sources who know the case stated that the news of Khan’s letter reached the military leadership through the media did not through any formal communication.

The controversy began when PTI chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Khan’s lawyer, Faisal Chaudhry, informed the media that Khan had written a letter to the army chief and urged him to “reassess the policy.”

When he spoke outside Rawalpindis Adiala prison, Chaudhry elaborated that the former prime minister in his capacity as PTI Supremo and Ex-Prime Minister had sent a six-point letter to General Munir.
