Islamabad:
On Thursday, PTI presented five demands to the government, called for a transparent legal process, the release of political prisoners, the freedom of the media, immediate free and fair elections and an end to what it called “fascism” by dropping politically motivated cases.
In a speech with the media outside Islamabad High Court, PTI leader Babar Awan emphasized that the ongoing cases against party leaders and workers should be exposed to impartial lawsuits.
He warned the government to “open his eyes” and put an end to what he described as “fascist practice.” He repeated PTI’s attitude and said that selective justice undermines democracy and that genuine justice must be quick, transparent and fair.
“Selected courts are used for selected cases. This is not justice,” he said, adding that the delay in judgments erodes the very principle of timely justice.
Awan demanded independent litigation in political cases, the release of all political prisoners, the freedom of the media, immediate free and fair choices and an end to “fascist tendencies”.
“Fifty -seven foals to eighty percent of the nation stands with Imran Khan. The government has to wake up and end its fascist tendencies,” he said, adding that the cases of model town I and II remained tied up in long -term delays.
When he spoke to the occasion, the opposition leader in the National Assembly accused Omar Ayub PML-N of bringing national sovereignty and wrong important national security and economic issues. He said that every time the Sharif family comes to power, the country’s integrity is threatened.
