‘India behind London HC Attack’

Islamabad:

The Federal Minister of Information Attaullah Tarar has condemned attacks on Pakistan’s High Commission in London by individuals “supported by Indian State and Agencies”.

The Pakistani High Commission in London was vandalized following protests from hundreds of Indian protesters outside the building. The incident led to material damage, with window windows crushed and saffron -colored paint thrown over the exterior of the building and its plaque.

Two people were later arrested for alleged involvement in violence. Pakistani followers also staged a counter -protest in response

After the attacks, security around the High Commission increased, while an investigation was underway to identify those responsible for the vandalism, the Pakistan State report reported.

With reference to these attacks as well as transnational assault on SIKH leaders in countries such as Canada and the United States, Tarar – while addressing the foreign media on Sunday – was that the attacks were evidence of India’s extremist ideology and hostile actions.

The minister highlighted Pakistan’s attitude as a front line state in the war against terror and said, “Pakistan is a victim of terrorism as no other state has established 90,000 lives in the war against terror.”

He said Pakistan’s armed forces, law enforcement and civilians sacrificed enormous victims of both national and global peace, noting that the economy has suffered losses in the “hundreds of billions of dollars” due to terrorism.

“We are the wall between the terrorists and the world, and Pakistan must be strengthened and supported in its war on terrorism,” he said.

“We will continue to protect our citizens and the citizens of the world and promote global peace by counteracting these terrorists trying to impose their own ideology in certain areas by wasting blood from civilians and staff from armed forces,” he noted.
