India has blocked the official X (formerly Twitter) account of Pakistan’s government within its territory following the deadly attack in Pahaldam, Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), where 26 people were killed and 17 wounded.
The account now shows a message that it has been “detained in India in response to a legal demand.”
The move is part of a number of diplomatic and strategic actions taken by New Delhi in response to the incident.

Other retaliatory measures include immediate suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, an important water sharing agreement mediated by the World Bank in 1960.
India quoted Pakistan’s alleged support for cross -border terrorism as a justification for the suspension.
In addition, India closed Attari-Wagah boundary-the only soil transition between the two nations-and canceled all South Asian regional visas issued to Pakistani citizens. Those who were already in India during such visas were given 48 hours to leave.
India also declared all Pakistani defense advisers in New Delhi Persona Non Grata and remembers his own military staff from Islamabad. The staff at India’s High Commission in Pakistan are reduced from 55 to 30.
