The Federal Minister of Information and Issuing Attaullah Tarar said Wednesday that India had raised white flags along the control line (LOC), which he interpreted as an admission of defeat following the recent hostilities between the two countries.
Tarar, who spoke at a press conference at Pak-China Friendship Center in Islamabad, praised Pakistan Air Force (PAF) for a quick and proportionate reaction to Indian air strikes. He claimed that PAF had shot five Indian fighter jets and a drone that had entered Pakistani territory.
The minister said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif closely monitored the security situation and that the country’s political and military leadership was united to defend Pakistan’s sovereignty.
He strongly condemned the targeting of civilian areas of Punjab and Azad Jammu and Kashmir under Indian strikes and called the act “very regrettable.”
With reference to Indian media reports, he said that even segments of the Indian press had recognized the loss of military equipment. He added that the Pakistani nation remained united behind its armed forces and had offered prayers about their success.
Tarar repeated Pakistan’s long -standing position as a victim of terrorism and noted that over 90,000 Pakistanis had lost their lives in related violence. He also referred to Pakistan’s offer of an independent investigation of the Pahagam incident – an offer he said was rejected by India, which he claimed reflected an unwillingness to pursue transparency.
He accused India of using propaganda to harm Pakistan’s international image and repeated Pakistan’s commitment to peace and regional stability.
Director-General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, confirmed on Wednesday that 26 civilians were martyred and 46 others wounded in Indian air strikes overnight aimed at several civilian areas throughout Pakistan.
In a speech during an orientation on Wednesday, DG ISPR said India performed 24 air strikes in six different locations inside the Pakistani territory.
He said 13 people were martyrated in Bahawalpurs Ahmedspur East area. The deceased included two three -year -old girls, seven women and four men. In addition, 37 individuals were wounded, including nine women and 28 men.
In a separate incident near Muzaffarabad, a strike resulted in Bilal Mosque in three fatalities, while two children – a girl and a boy – were caused by injuries, he added.
Another attack took place in Kotli, where the Abbas Mosque was targeted. Two teens, a 16-year-old girl and an 18-year-old boy, were martyrated. A woman and her daughter were also injured in the same incident.
He also said that no losses in Sialkot or Shakargarh were reported, although a dispensary in Shakargarh sustained less damage.
The military spokesman also confirmed that the Indian army fired along the line with control, martyred five civilians, including a five -year -old child.
The military spokesman added that India deliberately targeted mosques and described it as a reflection of the extremist mindset of Narendra Modi’s Hindutva-driven government, which he systematically suppresses minorities-Isarils Muslims.
He also said that the Pakistani army immersed five Indian fighter jets and a combat drone in response to unprovoked aggression and violations of the airspace.
According to the military spokesman, the aircraft that was shot down, three Rafale jet, a MIG-29, an SU series aircraft and an Israeli-made Heron Combat Drone. Jets were set up in several places, including Bhatinda, Jammu, Akhnoor, Srinagar and Avantipur.
“The Pakistani Air Force engaged these aircraft only after they carried out attacks on the Pakistani territory,” said DG Ispr. “Their aggression targeted Pakistan’s territorial integrity and threatened civilian lives,” he added.
