India sent drones for monitoring inside Pakistan: Khawaja Asif

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif stated the National Assembly on Friday that the recent drone attacks from India were intended for reconnaissance purposes rather than immediate strikes.

When he spoke on the floor of the National Assembly, Khawaja Asif said Indian drones were allowed to enter a “safe border” before they intercepted and neutralized them to avoid compromising sensitive locations.

He assured legislators that the armed forces were fully prepared to respond to any escalation. “No one should doubt that our armed forces are fully engaged in responding to Indian aggression,” he said. “We are 200 percent prepared for every situation,” the Minister of Defense added, noticing high morals in the military.

He also said that nations like China, Turkiye and Azerbaijan had expressed clear support to Pakistan.

Asif also said the government is engaged in daily diplomatic contacts with countries, including Iran, UAE, Saudi Arabia, China and Qatar, in the effort to step down the situation.

Separately condemned Jamiat disadvantage disrepair FAZL (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman Indian Aggression and expressed support for Pakistan’s armed forces.

He approached the National Assembly and said that India had targeted mosques, religious seminars and civilian areas, resulting in losses.

He announced that Jui-F observed “YouM-E-Dafa Watan” (defense of the home country) and shared plans for public collections in solidarity with the armed forces.

“A March is scheduled in Peshawar on May 11, followed by another in Quetta on May 15,” Jui-F chief said.

It should be noted here that the Pakistani army captured and destroyed 77 Israeli-made Harop drones, sent by India to target civil and military installations, confirmed federal minister of information options on Friday.

At least 29 drones were captured since Wednesday until Thursday evening with another 48 shot down overnight and into Friday.
