India that false connects Pakistan with Pahagam -event without proof: PM

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has stated that despite India’s provocative actions after the Pahagam incident in Indian—billed Jammu (IIOJK), Pakistan has responded in a responsible way.

He said India has failed to present evidence that connects Pakistan to the incident and instead tries to mistakenly connect Pakistan with the Pahagam event.

According to a press release issued by the Prime Minister’s office wing, Turkish ambassador Dr. Irfan Neziroglu with the Prime Minister at PM house on Saturday.

During the meeting, the prime minister communicated his best wishes to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and remembered his recent visit to Ankara on April 22, 2025, where the two leaders discussed progress between Pak-Turkey in different sectors.

The Prime Minister thanked President Erdoğan for his support for Pakistan in the midst of the current security situation in South Asia and for his call for regional peace.

He said that Türkiye’s support for Pakistan reflects the historical and deep fraternal bonds between the two countries and their people. He reiterated that Pakistan responded responsibly to the provocative actions of India after the Pahagam incident.

The Prime Minister confirmed that Pakistan has always condemned all forms of terrorism. He added that Pakistan has sacrificed huge victims in the fight against terrorism, including 90,000 lives lost and over $ 152 billion in economic losses.

He said that India’s actions are a malicious attempt to divert attention from Pakistan’s fight against terrorism.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif also emphasized that India has so far failed to respond to Pakistan’s offer of a credible, transparent and impartial international investigation to reveal the facts behind the Pahagam event. Pakistan will fully cooperate with such a study, and if Türkiye participates, it will be welcomed.

The prime minister added that Pakistan is currently focused on economic recovery and development, which requires peace and security in the neighborhood.

The Turkish ambassador conveyed Ankara’s support to Pakistan’s attitude and expressed solidarity with Pakistan. He urged restraint in the midst of the ongoing crisis to reduce tension and maintain peace and security in South Asia.

Previously, Prime Minister Shehbaz thanked Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang to approve Islamabad’s call for a credible and transparent international study of the April 22 attack in IIIOJK.

The Prime Minister made the comments during a meeting with Chinese ambassador Jiang Zaidong at the Prime Minister’s office in Islamabad, where he also expressed gratitude to China for his consistent support in the midst of escalating regional tensions.
