Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar repeated on Friday that India had approached the United States to mediate a ceasefire during the recent conflict.
In a speech with journalists in the capital, Dar said he was contacted by Washington at India’s request for intervention. “I made it clear that Pakistan did not want war, but it was imposed on us,” he said.
He clarified that Pakistan had not sought third -party mediation, but accepted a proposal to hold conversations with India in a neutral place. DAR emphasized that any dialogue would not be limited to a single-point agenda, adding that all outstanding disputes, including Kashmir, must be on the table.
Dar accused India of continued “Sabre-Rattling” and dismissed speculation about an impending visit from the US Secretary of State and said no such journey is planned. He also announced that he would take on a two-day visit to Bangladesh to further strengthen the bilateral connections.
