Pakistan’s armed forces have captured and destroyed 25 Israeli origin Harop drones deployed by India since last night, according to a statement from Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The military said it used both “Soft-Kill” (electronic countermeasures) and “hard-kill” (direct firepower) techniques to neutralize the drones effectively.
The message came hours after another Indian drone strike near Lahore wounded four Pakistani army staff and partially damaged military equipment, according to DG ISPR.
ISPR added that India’s latest drone -scaling reflects “a state of panic” after Pakistan’s successful retribution to the air strikes on May 6, resulting in the drainage of five advanced fighter jets, several drones and Indian soldiers’ deaths.
In a press briefing, Gen Chaudhry said the drone was the 13th launched by India for the past 48 hours and had “partially engaged a military goal near Lahore.”
In a separate incident in the Miano area of Sindh province, a civilian was killed and another wounded as a result of running drone activity. Gen Chaudhry condemned what he called “sustained and reckless provocations” of India and reiterated that Pakistan’s armed forces remain on high alarm.
Earlier this today, the ISPR confirmed the downturn of 12 Indian drones, most of which were identified as Israeli made Heron MK 2 models. The drones allegedly violated Pakistani airspace in several places, including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur and Karachi.
In addition, aircraft operations in Lahore, Islamabad and Sialkot are resumed according to Pakistan Airports Authority (on) after a temporary suspension due to rising security concerns.
In a statement on Thursday, the spokesman Saifullah Khan confirmed that airports were “now available to aircraft operations” and advised passengers to keep in touch with their respective airlines for updated airplanes.
