Indian Police Arrest False Police Running ‘Crime Bureau’

The Indian police have arrested six men for allegedly having posed as a police and blackmailed “donations” from a rented office labeled a “crime investigation agency”.

“International Police and Crime Investigation Bureau”, running from an office decorated with “police -like colors and logos,” was located in New Delhi Satellite City Noida, police said in a statement late Sunday.

The accused’s counterfeit documents and certificates and ran a website where they searched “donations” from the victims, police say.

They also claimed that they had a “affiliation with Interpol” and other international crime units.

“The deeds presented themselves as public employees,” police said.

Police restored several mobile phones, checkbooks, stamp seals and identity cards.

The arrests come just weeks after a man was arrested for allegedly driving a false embassy from a rented house near New Delhi and duping job seekers of money with promises of employment abroad.

The defendant runs an illegal “West Arctic Embassy” and claimed to be ambassador for fictional nations, including “West Arctica, Saborga, Poulvia, Lodonia”.

Harsh Vardhan Jain, 47, operated in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, as Neigbhour’s capital, the local police said.

He allegedly used vehicles with false diplomatic plates and shared doctored photos of himself with Indian leaders to strengthen his claims.

He is also charged with money laundering.
