The apparent deletion was noticed on social media the same day as comments from Krauskopf’s initial press conference resurrected.

Under Krauskopf’s introductory address 8 October, the team president spoke of making the fever an “lasting brand like Apple” while discussing Clark’s presence on the team.

“This is about the Indiana fever. Yes, we have a basic player in Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston, and we will continue to add it. But I want this team to be a leader in the country and a fire, a lasting brand, like Apple or something. We have a real opportunity here,” Krauskopf said.

Clips of this quote were viral on Friday, which received criticism from passionate Clark fans.

In her full 8th October Press Conference, Krauskopf suggested that the team would seem to move on to focus on a new demographic, compared to the fans, which it appealed to when it won its only WNBA championship in 2012.

“This is the moment when it takes a generation some time to get to that level,” Krauskopf said. “I want to tell our players, ‘Look, we are building this for another. We are building this for someone’s 10-year-old daughter now,’ Because that’s what you do. We would continue to move it forward, push it forward and pay it forward.”

“I know what kind of support we have and we have it, and this is where I feel empowered and very confident in the direction we go because we have that level of support.”

Krauskopf pointed out that Clark was 10 years old when the fever won his first title and emphasized the player’s value by recruiting.
