Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) President Bilawal Bhutto Zardari delivered a strong and trassing message to India on Saturday and warned that any attempt to undermine Pakistan’s rights over the Indus River would meet fierce resistance.

Bilawal, who turned to a big rally in SUKKUR, declared that Indus belongs to Pakistan and will remain so despite New Delhi’s one -sided features. “Let Modi hear this clearly – Indus is ours and it will remain ours. Either our water will flow or their blood will,” he warned and stood on the banks of the historic river.

The PPP chairman strongly condemned India’s decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty following accusations against Pakistan of the recent Pahagam -Terroric attack.

He accused Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi of smoothing “false and baseless” accusations of covering internal failures and misleading the Indian public. “Every time there is unrest in Kashmir, India accuses Pakistan of distracting from his own weaknesses,” Bilawal claimed.

He emphasized that India’s unilateral withdrawal from the Indus Waters Treaty, a binding international agreement, would not be recognized either globally or by the population of Pakistan.

“Modi’s efforts to take over Indus will fail. We are the rightful heirs and defenders of Sindhu (Indus) and we will protect it at all costs,” he said.

Bilawal confirmed that Pakistan’s armed forces are fully prepared to deliver a strong reaction to any Indian aggression. “We will confront India bravely, and our forces will give them an appropriate answer at the borders,” he said.

He urged the people of Pakistan to unite in defending the country’s hiking rights and sovereignty. “All four provinces must stand together to deliver a strong, united response to Modi’s provocations,” he said, calling on Pakistanis to act as ambassadors for the Indus River and protect their inheritance.

“This is a victory for peaceful, democratic struggle,” Bilawal added. “We will not allow anyone – inside or outside Pakistan – to steal our water or share our nation.”

No new channels without provincial consensus

Bilawal praised the recent consensus between PPP and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for blocking any new channel construction without the full consent of all provinces. “It is now a wounded policy – no new channels will be built without the approval of all the provinces and the public,” he declared.

He emphasized that the federal government, which responded to public objections, agreed that any water projects that lacked agreement would be returned to the authorities concerned. “Since July, we have raised objections to the proposed channel projects, and we will continue to protect Sindh’s hiking rights,” he said.

The PPP chairman also noted that the Council for Common Interest (CCI) would soon meet to formally approve this policy, which ensures that the rights of all provinces under the water decision in 1991 and 2018 water policy are respected. He thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz for hearing the concerns that Sindh and other stakeholders raised.
