Indycar -rookie Robert Shwartzman earned the pole position for the Indianapolis 500 with the fastest lap around the course on Sunday afternoon.

It was Shwartzman’s first time on an oval course. He appeared on “Fox & Friends” Monday morning, just hours after reaching the top place in “The biggest sight in racing.”

“Frankly, I still can’t believe it. It’s a new day and I still feel like it’s a dream. I’ve been dreaming of it for a long time, and yesterday everything went just as well, the car felt amazing,” he said. “I went to the fullest. And when I saw myself in P1, I was like ‘Wow, this is incredible.’

“The reaction of fans and people here in the US is incredible. I think it’s the most memorable and best emotional part of my entire career.”

Shwartzman traveled with speeds of up to 230 km / h and was somehow able to maintain control for the flaming laps. Some other drivers traveling at similar speeds jointly crashed crash at a similar speed.

2025 Indy 500 Odds: Rookie Robert Shwartzman exceeds after securing rod

The 25-year-old Russian Israeli driver was able to remain in control, maintain his focus and become the first rookie to won Poland since 1983.

“I want to do my best as I did in the qualification and we’ll see where we’re going to be on. I won’t put any huge expectations. I just want to enjoy it. I want a quick car and fight with the best guys.”

Indy 500 will be released on May 25 on Fox with pre-coverage, which starts at 1 p.m. 10 et. It will also be available to stream live on Foxsports.com and the Fox Sports app.
