Indycar NXT -officials waved the red flag to pause the race. Both of the other drivers seemed to be in order after being checked out at the Infield Care Center.

“It was super unfortunate. I’m not really sure what happened,” Murray said afterwards. “I’m just glad everyone is fine. It’s clear to apologize for the team. It’s been a good weekend so far and we hoped to get up but things happen. We move on.”

Escotto was not happy with Murray and called the crash a “very scary.”

“Just frustrated and very angry. It took me a lot to be contained and try to reassure me,” he said. “It was a very unfortunate incident, especially having my teammate next to me. It’s bad that we were in this situation because at the end of the day we shouldn’t drive like that. We were on straight and he moved us and obviously got in touch like that.

“Our racing is very close, very close margins, and if you make such a mistake, it just comes to this.”

Dennis Hauger won the race, the fifth of the season.

Murray is 10. And Escotto is 13. In the Indycar NXT position.
