Inflation spirals as Ramazan approaches

As Ramazan approaches, prices of gram flour, wheat flour, rice, white chickpeas, pulses, fruits and refined flour in the open market have increased by up to Rs 1,500. per mound, while alarms have been raised for a second round of price hikes during the current week.

The price of a 79 kg bag of flour and refined flour has increased by Rs.1,350, grams of flour, rice and white chickpeas by Rs.1,050. per mullet and red beans with Rs.950. per soil.

In the open market, chicken meat is sold at Rs 680 per kg, eggs at Rs 360 per dozen, mutton at Rs 2,400-2,500. kg, beef at Rs 1,350-1,450. Rs 430 per kg, fine red beans at Rs 410-415 per kg, coarse red beans at Rs 500 per kg and mash lentils at Rs 550 per kg.
