Instagram has long been missing a built -in iPad app, but that may soon change, at least according to a claim from the information. It may be welcome news for iPad and Instagram fans who are tired of having to use another device for their favorite social media site.
The report’s report quotes an Instagram employee who is allegedly aware of the plans. This worker says Instagram developer Meta hopes to take advantage of the turmoil, which Tiktok – which could be forced to sell his US business under pressure from US President Donald Trump – to target Tiktok users who may be looking for an alternative app.
While Instagram has never had a built -in iPad app, you’ve been able to run it on Apple’s tablets for a while. That’s because iPads are able to run apps designed for iPhone, although the experience in Instagram’s case is not well optimized for Apple’s tablet.
Instagram recently aimed at Tiktok owner Bytedance in a different way and debuted a video editing app called Editation designed to compete with Bytedans Capcut. Capcut was recently removed from the Apple App Store due to federal restrictions on its parent company’s apps.
To install Instagram on your iPad
While we’re waiting for a built -in Instagram app on the iPad, you can actually add the site on social media to your Apple tablet in the form of a web app. This acts as a normal app so it can be added to your iPad’s dock and found in the app switcher.
Go first to instagram.com in Safari and log in. Press the stock sheet button and select Add to the Home screen> Add. This places a web app on your iPad launching Instagram. Tap the app icon app displayed and sign in again.
That’s all you have to do. The web app has a few restrictions compared to Instagram’s original iPhone app -You can’t send photos, for example, but you can browse feeds, send direct messages, such as posts and add comments.
Currently, this method of sufficient if you want an Instagram app on your iPad. But with a native app that is allegedly on the way, solutions like this may not be necessary for much longer.
