Instant arrests over hate content ordered

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has ordered the adoption of zero-tolerance against violation of a code of conduct to ensure peace during Muharram. The chairman of a meeting she ordered immediate arrest of all who were found involved in the spread of hateful content on social media.

The Minister of the Ministry ordered the authorities concerned to enforce a ban on showing banners, posters and wall lime throughout the province. She also ordered immediate arrest of those who violated the ban on flying drones under Muharram.

She instructed the provincial ministers, commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, RPOs and DPOs to oversee the arrangements of the apartment and contact religious scholars for the purpose.

Chief Minister Maryanm Nawaz instructed Punjab Safe Cities Authority to make functional cameras out of order. She also instructed the special surveillance device to monitor and report on hate content.

She ordered the authorities to launch exercises of safety schemes and to install ‘Sabeels’ in a uniform way to Muharram collections for the distribution of refreshing beverages, lemonade and cold water bottles.

It was agreed during the meeting to install iron railings for security during processions and gatherings.

The Minister of Ministry issued directives to sprinkle water to protect participants in the joints from severe heat and humidity along with other steps to protect them from heat current.

She ordered the creation of field hospitals and clinics on wheels along the Ashura processional routes together with an effective traffic management plan and advisers. She also called for schemes to ensure timely drainage of water in case of rainfall.

The minister also ordered activation of the hotel and travel surveillance web applications, continuing to fight operations and the acquisition of an anti-drone system.

She said the SOPs for the apartment should be implemented in letter and spirit.

She said hanging electrical wires posed a great risk and they had to be removed quickly. There should be no power outage on during the collections of Streetings Street light should not be off, she added.

“It is our most important responsibility to protect the country and the nation from hatred, prejudice and disagreement. Department and hatred are toxic to the new generation and we will eliminate it at all costs.

There is a great need to take effective and sustainable precautions to eradicate hatred and prejudice, ”she said.
