- We could see a new XE3P architecture for Intel’s rumor next generation’s ‘Celestial’ GPUs
- Rumor tip to Intel potentially using an internal Intc process instead of the usual TSMC
- This can lead to stronger competition against AMD and Nvidia as Intel may make a greater effort on its GPUs
Intel’s recent GPUs in Battlemage have been well received by budget PC players, with ARC B580 and ARC B570, which gives great performance of 1440p and 1080p respectively – it does not stop there for Team Blue, as reports suggest it has it has New tricks up its sleeve for its next generation of ‘Celestial’ GPUs.
According to Raichu in a post of X that appears to have been removed (reported by Videocardz), Team Blue’s new discreet GPUs known as Arc Celestial will be based on XE3P architecture rather than XE3. Raichu also suggests Intel using his Intc-Intern Process instead of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company), who is responsible for helping to build chips for multiple tech giants used for most GPUs, such as Nvidias Recent RTX 5000 series setup, also as Intels ARC B580 and B570. Moving internally gives Intel more control over chips, and that also means they don’t have to wait for TSMC to meet orders from its many other customers, many of whom are direct competitors to Intel.
A new architecture can bring significant performance improvements and increased effective efficiency to the next gene GPUs, which we have previously seen with Nvidia’s movement from ADA Lovelace (for the RTX 4000 series) to Blackwell (for the RTX 5000 series). New technologies such as AI scaling, data processing and framework generation will be possible, which sounds promising for the rumor XE3P architecture.
Videocardz highlighted a LinkedIn profile by an Intel engineer who was revealed to work on rumored architecture, which further confirms reports of its development for the heavenly GPUs. It seems that it is developing with the XE3+ and XE3 (code names for architectures developed by Intel), but since this is still only a rumor, take it with a grain of salt.
There is no doubt that NVIDIA remains the market leader in graphics cards (despite some ongoing concerns about the RTX 5000 series GPUs), but there is a chance that its rival AMD could soon start closing the gap. Intel still has some work to do to get closer to both Team Green and Team Red in terms of competition – and while it is unlikely that the alleged heavenly GPUs will soon launch pretty exciting for anyone who wants GPU -The market has more competition and choices.
Road to High-End GPUs for Intel?
NVIDIA has been GPU market manager for a long, long time now, and although AMD has tried hard to close the gap with them like Radeon RX 7900 XTX (competing with RTX 4080 Super), it has not been enough to surpass its rival’s products.
Despite this, AMD is the only real ‘threat’ for NVIDIA’s GPU -Trone right now, even with its clear focus on middle graphics card this generation, and its new Radeon RX 9000 series looks promising considering the negative consensus around Nvidia’s generation raise from RTX 4000 series (especially with the pricing of the new GPUs).
Intel still has a long journey ahead if it wants to catch up on both the recent ARC B580 and ARC B570 are considered midrange GPUs. Although it has provided a great opportunity for the budget PC players, it does not match the popularity of Team Green’s GPUs, and it seems to continue if the hype about the upcoming RTX 5070 TI and RTX 5070 is something to go by. Either way, the only way is up, which is good because Team Green needs more competition – as it means (hopefully) more innovation and more competitive prices for us consumers.
We have not yet seen what Team Blue can produce when it comes to advanced GPUs, but based on affordable prices for its battlemage offering, I am very eager to see what it will mean when it can focus on To give even stronger GPUs for players …
