- Intuit unveils five new AI agents to help SMBs grow
- Report finds “daily tasks” hold many back
- New tools to help unlock productivity for SMBs
Intuit has announced a slew of new AI tools and services for small businesses looking to take their next big leap forward.
The accounting software giant unveiled five new AI agents on its Intuit platform that it says will be able to transform how SMBs work and operate, giving them the chance to flourish and grow.
Available now as an all-in-one platform, the agents will cover everything from bookkeeping to leads to financial summaries and project management, automating time-consuming tasks and increasing productivity and cross-functional collaboration.
AI to the rescue
“This is very much the beginning, not the end – allowing trusted experts like accountants and bookkeepers to come together in one place to help small and medium businesses run and grow their business and ultimately solve more of the critical jobs they need to do to run their business, all in one place,” said Ciaran Quilty, SVP, International, Intuit at a launch event attended by TechRadar Pro.
The launch comes after Intuit revealed new research that found many SMBs say they are being held back by fragmented systems or siled services, leading to major operational inefficiencies.
The survey of 3,600 SMB managers in the UK, Australia and Canada found that these businesses could see up to 58% more revenue growth by closing what it calls the “Growth Gap” of unrealized potential – equivalent to at least £121,272 in annual revenue for smaller businesses and as much as £416.00 for medium-sized businesses.
Day-to-day operations cause much of these inefficiencies, with the survey showing that almost 40% of UK managers are almost always involved in day-to-day operations and only 5% said they felt comfortable delegating major decisions, with managers also losing almost a full working day each week switching between seven to nine digital systems to keep their business running.
The company believes AI can help unlock this business potential, as 80% of SMB managers say AI can help them delegate more effectively while maintaining control, and 40% say they’re already saving 5-8 hours per week through automation.
“Although companies are missing out on growth opportunities, the extent of their use of artificial intelligence makes a clear difference,” Quilty added.
“Ambition is abundant, but the path to execution remains blocked by day-to-day complexity. The challenge is not the ambition itself, but the systems required to make it progress. When routine work is automated, time and visibility are restored – giving leaders the insight they need and the confidence to act with conviction.”
