- iOS 18.5 Beta 3 has just been released to developers
- The little update is likely to focus on bug fixes
- All the big changes appear to be in iOS 19 later in the summer
Apple has just released the third developer Beta of iOS 18.5, and it comes with a few adjustments that can improve mail and setting apps for you. But it is generally a very easy update and if you expected huge changes, you may be disappointed.
The first change can be found in the Settings app. IOS 18.5 Beta has added a more prominent AppleCare+ Bann to the top of the page set aside for Apple’s warranty service. You can also find more information about AppleCare+ for each product registered in the Apple account section of the Settings app, making Apple Service easier to find.
The other new item found in iOS 18.5 Beta relates to the mail app. In this case, Apple has added a check to disable contact images in your E -Mail inbox. This can be found by pressing the three-dot button in the mail’s upper right corner and then choosing the option of displaying contact photos.
Previously, you had to dig around the mail’s settings to find this control.
A minor update
It is worth noting that these changes have been present in earlier iOS 18.5 betas, as we described earlier in April. Without other prominent features added to the latest iOS 18.5 Beta 3 release, this suggests that the latest update can instead focus on behind the scenes bug fixes and improvements.
We do not know when exactly iOS 18.5 will be launched out of beta, but we know that iOS 18.4.1 is available to the public.
This update focuses on bug fixes with solutions to a number of problems that come as part of the release. It includes a solution for a CarPlay-Bug that made many people’s entertainment in the car unseal or difficult to use.
Looking further, Apple is ready to advertise iOS 19 at its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 9th. This update is joined to come up with a wide design overhaul and a slate of interesting new features that are probably taking a lot of development time on Apple.
If so, the lack of major updates in iOS 18.5 makes much more meaning and may be a sign that more Substanbtial updates are on the way.
