- IOS 26 Beta contains a brand new ringtone
- The tune has been sent online where it has shared meaning
- It is unknown whether it will be included in the final iOS 26 release
The iOS 26 update is full of new features, and Beta users discover parties that Apple did not mention at its WWDC event -including a new ringtone buried in the operating system’s code, and this is already divided’s statement among the iPhone -referenced.
Ringtone was noticed by X User @8810CFW, which released a screen recording of the sound in action. Other users, as Macrumor’s contributions Aaron Perris confirmed that the ringtone was real and placed their own clips of it.
The title ‘Reflectional1 acor mix’, the tone sounds like it is being played on a xylophone or similar instrument. Perris described it as “glassy” – which could be one of the reasons for its recording in iOS 26 along with the floating glass nest design.
A polarizing tune
However, Ringtone has apparently shared meaning on social media. Many users enjoyed it, with reactions like “It’s an actual bang”, “Oooo I like this” and “I love it!” filling in comment sections.
During Perris’ post, user @rightcrown5 even went so far as to say “Woah, it actually sounds insanely good. It may be for future generations what Marimba had been for and iOS users.”
But not everyone is excited about Apple’s secret ditty. “Sounds creepy,” said one user, with someone else who said it “would make me depressed.” ‘Vomited’ emoji was used on at least one occasion.
It is unclear whether Apple will actually include this ringtone in the final version of iOS 26 – we are still in the developer’s betapase, with the public beta to be launched in July and the full release coming later this year.
Still, with iOS 26 that makes it easier to load your own custom ringtones onto your iPhone, you might pass that time by adding another tune to your phone while you wait.
