- Reddit -users report dizziness, dizziness and eye loading with iOS 26
- This seems to come from visual effects that make icons appear tilted
- There are steps you can take to reduce the problem
It is safe to say that iOS 26 has not had the smoothest launch – after reports that users regret the update due to battery life and text car problems, we now hear reports on some even more serious problems.
Numerous Reddit users (via PHANDOID) have reported that the new Liquid Glass design can make icons seem tilted -especially when there is a dark wallpaper or when using ‘dark’, ‘clear’ or ‘tinted’ icon themes, rather than sticking to the standard icons.
The effect leads some users to feel dizzy, develop eye load or even report feelings of Vertigo. A poster described it as “an optical nightmare”, another claimed “This update makes me feel full” and there are many other similar posts.
Escape the effect
Fortunately, there are possible corrections to try. First, you can stick to the standard icon style and use a bright wallpaper. It should make the effect less visible, but may not fully solve the problem for everyone.
Another step you can take – as described in our guide to making iOS 26 easier on your eyes – is to go to Settings> Accessibility> Display and Text Size and Change on ‘Reduce Transparency’.
You may also want to increase the contrast where the tilt is found on the same screen.
Having to jump through these hangers just to make your phone applicable is obviously not ideal. Maybe Apple could make some adjustments to the liquid glass limit surface in a future update to help with visibility.
