- Apple may be able to launch a new case for replacement
- The new case is allegedly made of structured substance
- It comes in multiple colors and may work with a “crossbody strap”
When Apple launched the iPhone 15 series, it also revealed a new case called Finewoven, as it said was better for the environment than leather alternatives. Still, this case turned out to be a disaster with a flood of complaints about its appearance and lack of durability. Yet, apparently, it has not exposed Apple from finding a replacement, with a new leak that apparently reveals the protective case that the company could launch with the iPhone 17 later in the year.
In a post on their website, Leaker Majin Buer has published what they claim are photos of an upcoming fine woven sequel called Techwoven. This shows the full selection of colors that the case will apparently come in, including green, orange, black, navy blue and purple. As with Finewoven – which was made of a “microtwill” fabric – BU says that tech -woven “remains a fabric cover, but the material has been redesigned for greater durability and more practical daily use.”

BU says this has the form of a “lightly textured weaving” and their photos show a muted effect when seen close by. Of crucial importance claims the leak that the surface of the case “maintains a consistent appearance, even after week’s use.” If it is true, it may tackle one of the most important criticism of Finewoven, which often seemed to be worsened in the appearance after a period of persistent use.
The cases will also include metallic buttons, cuts for Lanyardband, Magsafe Compatibility and an integrated camera fontractor, claims. There will reportedly be options for any model in the iPhone 17 series, including iPhone 17 Air.

This is not Majin BU’s first tech -woven revelation. Just two days ago, Leaker published pictures of what they claimed was on packaging for the tech woven case. Before that, they uploaded a picture of a single tech -woven case on X, though they noticed it was a clone rather than one made by Apple, which suggested that the buses in the bus recent post could also be clones.
Interestingly, the packaging recently revealed by Majin BU term “compatible with crossbody strap.” Apple does not sell any products under this name, but iPhone accessory manufacturer Otterbox does. With the tech -woven case that allegedly includes lanyard cuts, it may indicate that Apple has made it compatible with Otterbox’s accessories. Alternatively, Apple may be planning to sell its own product called Crossbody Strap, perhaps as a security feature to avert to snap thieves.
Reactions to the tech woven case rumors have so far been mixed. At Reddit was the top comment on a post that linked to the cover of the tech-woven case, a brief “It’s a no from me”, where many of the complaints quote Apple’s traditionally high prices for its own brands accessories. Many also noticed to miss the quality of Apple’s early leather cases around the time of iPhone 8 and iPhone X.
However, the answers under Majin BU’s latest X posts were more positive, so it’s left to see if the tech woven can succeed where fine -woven failed.
There is no doubt that the fine -woven debacle was a stumble for Apple, and although there were still plenty of people who liked the cases, the overwhelming mood was one of the negativity. This means Apple is under pressure to do better this time. With only a few weeks, until the iPhone 17 -Launch date, we would soon have to find out if these rumored tech -woven cases can put things right.
